# Karaman Museum
I invite you to this small yet impressive museum to discover Karaman’s historical richness. Located next to the Hatuniye Madrasa, the museum carefully preserves and presents the region’s rich archaeological heritage.
Here, you can see select examples from our inventory of fifteen thousand artifacts. Collected from around Karaman since the Byzantine period, these artifacts are arranged in historical chronology and presented to visitors. The museum houses a rare female mummy, known as the “Manazan Beauty,” which was excavated from Manazan Cave and naturally mummified without any chemical treatment. This masterpiece deeply impresses history enthusiasts.
In addition, the museum displays sarcophagi with impressive stone carvings, both in its exhibition halls and garden. We offer an ideal venue for understanding the region’s unique artistic tradition through artifacts reflecting its customs and culture. Our free admission is open to the public during specified hours, except on Mondays. Even a short visit will be enough for you to grasp Karaman’s historical depth.
