# Sakarya Museum
Sakarya Museum is a valuable cultural venue located in the heart of the city, vividly presenting our history. Housed in this historic mansion where Atatürk stayed in 1922, the museum today functions as one of the city’s most important museums.
The museum’s collection bears the traces of dozens of civilizations. The ground floor displays rich artifacts from the Roman period, while the upper floor features monuments from Atatürk and the Republican era. Ancient sarcophagi, sculptures, and stone artifacts from the Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine periods captivate visitors in the garden.
With numerous coins, an ethnography section, and detailed information panels, the museum allows you to understand Sakarya’s centuries-old lifestyle and culture. Welcoming guests with its central location, free admission, and professional guided tours, this venue offers a short but meaningful visit experience. It is open every day except Mondays, from 08:30 to 17:30.
