Dolmabahçe Palace

Dolmabahçe Palace is one of Istanbul’s most prestigious cultural venues and a structure that captivates me with every visit. This palace, preferred for understanding the grandeur of the Ottoman Empire’s final period and the political significance of the era, stands out not only for its magnificent architecture but also for its rich collections.

While wandering through the Selamlık and Harem sections, it’s possible to see the living quarters of the Sultans, the artworks of the period, and historical documents. Examining the paintings, frescoes, and period visual materials within the palace and bringing past eras to life in our minds truly offers a profound experience. The structure and exhibitions, carefully maintained, are highly appreciated for their excellent quality.

The museum card holders’ preference has reduced queuing issues. I recommend setting aside 2-3 hours to explore the entire collection. Visiting in the morning hours will provide a more comfortable and productive visit experience.
