Mehmet Akif Ersoy Commemorative House

This historic space, where Mehmet Akif Ersoy, the poet of our National Anthem, spent the last six months of his life, is located on the fourth floor of the Mısır Apartmanı in Beyoğlu. Opened in 2021, this commemorative house offers visitors the opportunity to get to know the life and works of one of Turkish literature’s most important figures up close.

Visitors encounter valuable objects such as Mehmet Akif Ersoy’s personal belongings, manuscripts, and spectacles. The chronological arrangement within the museum presents our poet’s life story comprehensively. Carefully designed spaces including a Library, Exhibition Hall, Poetry Room, and Documentary Room provide visitors with a profound experience. Through the printing notes of the National Anthem and digital exhibitions, it is possible to discover the spirit of the national struggle.

This modest yet meaningful space is open free of charge daily between 09:00-18:15. An elevator is available.
