How much money do you need per day in İstanbul

Daily expenses in İstanbul vary depending on your travel style. For a budget-conscious visitor, 80-120 TL per day may suffice — you can get by on street food (döner, simit), meals at cheap restaurants, and traveling with an İstanbulkart (public transport card). If you want mid-range comfort, set aside 250-400 TL per day; this allows you to eat at good restaurants, cover museum and tour fees. For a luxury experience, you may need 500+ TL per day.

Museum cards (museums around 30-40 TL each) are an economical choice in the long run. Minibuses and trams are very affordable. Taxis are reasonable, though ride-sharing apps like Uber can sometimes be cheaper. Restaurant prices for tourists are higher in Sultanahmet, Galata, and Beyoğlu; if you venture into local neighborhoods, you'll find more affordable options.

The best thing about the city is that it caters to every budget. Sipping tea while watching the Bosphorus or strolling through the Mısır Çarşısı is often free and priceless.
